Shamanic Healing

What is shamanic healing?

In the simplest terms shamanic healing is an ancient form of healing that treats the spiritual and energetic causes of illness and has been practiced thought out the world in every culture at one time or another. The shamanic practitioner communicates with healing spirits through a divinatory process called journeying where in by they receive guidance about the healing that is needed. Shamanic healing is relevant in our world today because many medical and even alternative healing modalities do not address the spiritual aspects of illness. In addition, in this modern, fast paced world, we often feel disconnected from ourselves, each other and the world around us leading to isolation, dysregulation and spiritual/energetic dis-ease.

What shamanic healing is not:

A substitute for medical or psychological care.

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. Shamanism is a holistic healing practice in which plant medicine can be a part. However, psychedelic plant medicine is not always a part of shamanic healing.

Why would you want a shamanic healing?

You have been dealing with chronic physical, mental or energetic issues, are doing everything you know to do to heal and you still are not feeling better.

You are suffering from burn out, overwhelm, overstimulation and emotional/spiritual fatigue as a Highly Sensitive Person or health care professional.

You have a deep longing to know the spiritual origin for the things you have experienced in your life.

You are ready to have a deeper connection with yourself, your guides and a stronger sense of belonging in the world.

What should I expect in a shamanic healing?

Divination: The day before a shamanic healing I will journey to my healing guides, with your permission, to ask for guidance and insight about the healing needed.

The day of the treatment our time together will consists of:

Talking about goals and intention setting.

Creating sacred space and calling in helping spirits

Performing the treatment ritual*

Debreif and homework assignments.

*Different types of treatment rituals and what you may expect:

Clearning-Limpias- clearing ones energetic field with herbal “brooms”, sound, smoke or flower essence spritz

Extractions-removing energetic intrusions- this is a deeper clearing than a limpia

Empowerment-A form of energy healing.

Helping Spirit discovery- using shamanic journeying to discover your helping spirit

Soul retrieval-calling parts of ones self back. Parts of ourselves can dissociate as a means of protection during traumatic events.

Transfiguration-the use of divine light to transform illness, negative thoughts or blockages

Note: You can not request a specific healing ritual. The guides determine the treatment plan. I do not.

Other work we might do together:

Energetic awareness training- The use of visualisation for energetic boundary setting to encourage embodiment and soverntiy of ones physical and energetic self.

Divination- using journeying, tarot, medicine cards or divination tools to gain further insight.

Ritual/ceremony work- the use of ceremony/ritual to release or call in energy.

Psychopomp- helping souls cross over into the light- for those who have passed or are preparing to pass.

Teaching- the most important healing, in my opinion, is teaching people how to journey and connect with sprits for their own empowerment and healing.

Some things to know

Shamanic healing addresses the spiritual and energetic roots of illness. The mind, body & spirit are connected and inseparable so everything has a spiritual component. That doesn’t mean that every illness necessarily needs a shamanic healing. In some cases mundane cures are the best medicine. In other cases working with and reconnecting with guidance from Spirit leads to more graceful and complete healing while you engage with other medical interventions.

I don't do the healing. The guides do. Ultimately, I work with Spirit to help you develop your relationship to your own spiritual guidance.

The cost of treatment reflects the time I spend with you and the time I spend journeying and preparing for the treatment. At times the guides give me homework to prepare for your treatment such as gathering tools for the healing ritual such as foraging for herbs or preparing a flower essence.

Although, it is possible to feel relaxed or even euphoric at times during or after treatments, there may also be moments of challenge as we work through and clear blockages. However, when we work at the pace the guides set we are often able to move with grace during these moments.

Shamanic healing is not a passive experience. Your active participation in the process is required. This means that I will expect you to come ready to learn how to journey (if you don’t already) and actively engage in energetic protection practices.

Most healing requires a series of treatments. Although it is possible to experience big shifts in one treatment, there is work to be done to prevent energetic patterns from reemerging. Each treatment builds on another.
